Uxbridge Colledge Protfolio - Years 1 & 2

This is a project portfolio that I have put together for the Universities that ask to see it. I have put my best artwork on display in this project. All of the artwork that is in this board are from my previous projects in Uxbridge College and some of my own artwork that I made in my spare time.
Yr 1: Project 1: Portrait Project
These are my sketches of the eye and the mouth. These sketches show the process which I used to draw these final sketches.
These two drawings are sketches that I have drawn. These drawings are drawn in a simple line but the shadows have been shown with lines instead of shading. They are the same drawing but one is drawn in pencil while the other is drawn in pen.
These drawings are made in different styles to the first two. The one on the left has been drawn in the same style that Julian Opie has used to drawn his artwork. The right one has been drawn using an ink dip pen. I drawn it in the same style as the two previous drawings but the shadows have been shown using shading this time.

This is a line portrait. It was inspired by the Ink Dip Pen style drawing.
The portrait on the left was inspired by the work of Andy Warhol. I was inspired by his use of colour and I wanted to implement that into my work. I used the threshold effect to create the different coloured sections on my face. The colour patches are my own addition.
This portrait was inspierd by the work of Picasso. I have also added some collage to the artwork, to make it look abstract.
Yr 1: Project 2: Dumb Ways To Die Project
These are perspective drawings that we had to make in order to create the DWTD posters.
This is the 1 point perspective drawing.
These are the characters that I have created for this project. They dont have any colour as they are thumbnails.
These are the same charatcers, but I have added colour to them.
This is my final outcome from my second project. The project had us create our own 'Dumb Ways To Die' characters. This is the character that I made. The idea behind this character, was the amount of people that walk onto the road with out looking if there is a car driving towards them. I have used the 'Kidney' character from the original DWTD posters as inspiration for my own character.
Yr 1: Project 2: Greeting Card Project
These are the thumbnails/scamps for the greeting card project.
These are the final three greeting card designs that I have created. The one on the left is a repeated pattern design, whereas the other two have a geometrical shape design, with the one on the right having textures instead of colours. Behind each Greeting Card is a envelope that the card goes into.
Yr 1: Project 3: Magazine Project
This page shows the thumbnails that I have created for the magazine project. Half of them being traditional style DPS's and the other half being experimental style DPS's.
This is the first scamp that I have created. It was based on one of the traditional designs from the thumbnail page.
This is the second scamp that I have created. This one was taken from the experimental designs of the thumbnails.
This is my first mock up of my magazine. This mock up has the cover and the experimental version of my DPS.
This is my Experimental DPS. It's design consists of geometric triangles. The answers to these questions came from a person I interviewed.
This is the second mock up of my magazine. This mock up once again shows the cover, but it has the traditional version of my DPS.
This is the traditional style DPS that i have made.
Yr 1: Project 4: Radio Station Project
These are my ideas and the possible names that I came up with.
These are my thumbnails for my final design. I have experimented with the different patterns and icons that I was going to implement into the logo.
This is the page shows the development of my final logo from the 4th project. There is a black and white version of the logo in the bottom right corner of the page. There are also two other versions of the logo. One is pure red and the other has my slogan that I also came up with under the logo itself. The top three logo designs are three different size comparisons, to show what the logo would look like on different objects such as an pap ( the small logo ) or a billboard ( the largest logo).
This is my final logo mock up. I have used the black and white version as I think that it looks more professional.
This is a animation storyboard that I have made during my tit project. It is for a radio station that I have come up with. It shows how the animation would play out if it was ever made into an actual sequence. All the phases of the animation are described on the image itself.
Yr 1: Final Major Project: Rock The Ramp Festival
These are my pages with custom typefaces that I have drawn out for my FMP. The first page contains Graffiti style typefaces.
The second page has the Hand Written typefaces.
These are my four logo concepts for the FMP.
This is my final outcome for the Final Major Project. I have decided to create an event that would promote the Southbank skate park, which was underused, and so I have created a skateboarding event that I called 'Rock the Ramp'. The inspiration for this design came from the work of an artist called Keith Haring. He creates characters similar to the ones that are present on my design. I have added action lines to them to animate them in order to represent the movement that is present when you ride a skateboard. The logo for the festival was also made using one of the characters that I have created. It replaced the 'T' in 'The' and that is what makes this logo memorable. I have also made up a site URL and I have also made a Facebook page to go along with it.
This is the webpage that I have created in Adobe Illustrator. I have taken a blank web page thumbnail and added some of my artwork to it. I have added the logo of my festival to the page along with some other made up festivals, which were some of the names that I wanted to use for my event, but I decided not to. The information on the page is placeholder text and the images used are taken from google. They are form contests that happened in the past in the same skate park.
This is the artwork that I made for the facebook page that I have created. They are very similar to the final poster that I have created. I have also included a screenshot of the Facebook page at the bottom to show that I have made it for real.
This is my banner design. This design was made to be printed out in the format of lamp banners. It follows the same design as the poster, but it is longer and therefore it has more free space, and so I had to enlarge the text and also I had to eliminate the sponsor logos to make sure that the information was legible. I have also printed this banner out in full size for my exhibition at college.
Yr 2: Project 1: Film Festival Project
This is the first page of my thumbnails for this project.
This is the second page with my thumbnails for this project.
This is the poster that I had to create for my first project of this year. It was for a project, that had us choose a film festival and create a poster, along with some other outcomes, to promote next years festival. I have chosen Raindance FIlm Festival, and therefore I have decided to make my outcomes show the name of the festival in a visual way. I decided to visualise 'Rain', by creating a background that would represent the rain falling down. I have also added social media links, along with the website link.
This is a mock up of my final poster along with my alternate version on a wall.
This is a animation storyboard that I have made during my 1st project of the second year. It shows how the animation would play out if it was ever made into an actual sequence. All the phases of the animation are described on the image itself.
This is my banner design mock up.
These are the banner that I have created for this festival. One of them is vertical while the other is horizontal. They share a similar design to the poster.
In addition to the poster, animation and the banners, I have created an app and T-shirt design. This is the app design, and I have made it for using an iPhone app template, since iPhone is one of the more popular brands of phones.
This is a mock up of my shirt design. I have made a plain white design along with some other shirt colours.
This is my mock up with the different coloured shirts.
